Memory Dump

I have a 510 receiver and can access the memory dump screen( menu 6-3-info-right-left). I know it resets passwords etc.etc but will it crash my receiver? I used to have a hughes directv receiver and to do a "hard" factory reset you had to remove the smart card, press up up down on the receiver's front panel and power off but this erased everything ie locks, favorite list, past and pending ppv purchases everything.

why do you want to do that....wanna try to hack into the box?...without getting into that subject which is not allowed on this forum!....bad things can happen...leave it be.......
