Have HR21-700, Running Vista, i can use media share for music and pix but i have to keep turning off firewall. is there a way to set it up so firewall can be on, but yet still use media share?

I would setup static DHCP on the router and establish an permanent opening for your HR21; you have it connected wireless I assume?
You sure do not want to be turning off the firewall.

You don't have to touch the router's firewall, but if running a firewall in windows you need to open up whatever port it uses (I don''t recall which one that is).
You should to enable and setup WEP security. It is also recommended to move away from dynamic assignment and setup static DHCP for optimal performance; but seeing that the op added that he was hard wired; windows firewall is the the culprit. If you are using anther security suite, such as Norton IS or like; then you should not need that AND windows firewall and you will be abel to remedy much easier.
