One minor problem I have noticed when using this drive with the DVR-1100c is that the light stays on the Maxtor (I don't know if it keeps spinning or not) when the DVR is turned off (standby) with the remote. I overcome this when I am not planning to record by disconnecting the USB connector. I use a short USB extension cable to make the connection readily available for either thumb drive or maxtor use. When the drive is used with the computer it turns off with the computer.

I have the Maxtor OneTouch 4Plus also. I don't like that light on that drive... it is has bright as a spotlight at night but the drive itself works great. I covered the light with a piece of electrical tape just enough so I could only barely see it. Otherwise I ignore that light.
