My daughter down in Texas presently has a Hopper 3, five Joey 2s, and one Wireless Joey. WJ is the only purchased item. She is wanting one more Joey either wireless or a Joey 3. What is the maximum Joeys limit? Going to go visit in June and was thinking of purchasing another Joey for her if DISH will allow seven Joeys. Also, does anyone know if DISH will swap out her Joey 2s for Joey 3s? If so, what would DISH charge for the upgrade? Thanks for any help.

Is she trying to rival your own setup? ;)
LOL, no. However, couple years ago I was super jealous of her setup for a long time. She got her Hopper 3 system way before me because I was waiting for the DPH42 switch. :coco
I wish there was a way to upgrade all her Joey 2s to Joey 3s without it costing an arm and leg. I will call DISH later and see what they have to say about that.

I talked to the DISH Loyalty department. Upgrading from Joey 2s to Joey 3s is determined by individual account basis. No telling what all that means. She looked at my daughter's account after I passed a few questions. Since my daughter is a hi loyalty preferred customer, DISH will upgrade four Joey 2s to Joey 3s for free. The fifth Joey 2 will be a $50 charge. My daughter has been a DISH customer since 2003, autopay, paying full price for all services/packages, etc, etc. They are even offering her a preferred customer offer on her bill. So I texted my daughter and told her the bad news for a seventh Joey but had a little good news. Will be calling her tonite and give her a rundown of the good news.

I am thinking of getting my daughter an Amazon Fire stick for her eight TV since there is a six Joey limit. Will this device work ok out in the country? They have real slow Internet speed. Is the DishAnywhere app built in? How about the HBO app?

If it is on the same local network as the Hopper, Internet speed should not matter unless she watches VOD. You load the DA app from the Amazon App Store. HBO Now is available as well, but that does rely on the Internet connection. HBO specifies 5Mbps for HD video on Now.

Yep, I just installed a hopper 3 with 6 joeys today(2 wireless), and the customer decided to just do the fire stick for the 8th tv he wanted hooked up rather than purchasing another h3.

So how does using the DISH Anywhere app in the Fire Stick work exactly? What remote do you use?

You'll use the remote that comes with the fire stick. It'll be a little awkward at first, as it's nothing like a dish remote, but you'll get the hang of it. You can literally do anything you can do with a Joey, just like if you were using dish anywhere on your phone, only with a strange remote.

OK, thanks. Do you think the 4K Fire Stick is better than the regular one for some reason if not a 4K TV?
