Greetings all, There is an amazing amount of information on this site!!
Anyway, it appears I need advice on my re-installation I haven't seen yet.
I had Dish about 4 years ago. I own the following equipment I want to re-use:
Dish 500 & legacy 110 and 119 lnb's, 2700 and 4900 receivers. I want to be able to see three different programs at the same time so I anticipate adding another receiver (maybe HD and DVR). I'm a technical person, lots of experience with C & Ku installs for broadcast and educational, have all the right cable, connex, tools etc. But not a lot of experience with DBS. My biggest issue is how to direct the RF coming from the lnb's, in the correct polarity, through switching to this mix of legacy and newer receivers. Yes, I intend to install this myself because I'm way out in the sticks, and not many installers have the time to do the neat, precise kind of work I will do.
Thanks for your help.

If you add an HD reciever you will need to pick up the 61.5 or 129 bird, depends where you live at. A dual tuner receiver requires 2 RG-6 feeds from legacy equipment, so you would need 4 lines total. Any of the new receivers will be Dish Pro Plus Receivers. If you use this old equipment you would need another dish, another legacy LNB and a SW64 switch, which are no longer made.

Your better bet is to get a Dish 1000.2 (<$100 on ebay), which will pick up 110,119, 129, and also you can add a wingdish for 61.5 if needed. All 3 receivers can plug into the 1000.2 (3 outs) and no power inserter is needed. No dish pro adapters either. Make sure you hook the new receiver on port 1 of the LNB for legacy support. You can use your D500 with a DP LNB for 61.5 if you needed to. THis will also allow you to only have to run 1 cable to your new receiver.
