Abstract: A House bill introduced Tuesday would take existing cable-TV privacy protections and extend them to customers of DirecTV and EchoStar Communications.

Would this also prevent customers from having to plug in a phone line if they feel as if there was information going back to the company such as viewing habbits or that someone was spying on them?
