After missing nine games with an ankle injury, it looks like Marc Savard will be out for one more.
The National Hockey League dished out its punishment to the Atlanta Thrashers' centre on Friday, handing him a one-game suspension for biting Toronto Maple Leafs forward Darcy Tucker on Thursday night.
Savard was ejected for biting Tucker's glove during a scuffle in Atlanta's 3-1 loss to Toronto and was given a match penalty.
The Thrashers got a big lift from Savard leading into Thursday's game. He was back three weeks after tearing ligaments in his left ankle. He was expected to miss eight-to-10 weeks but was able to return after two screws were inserted in his ankle.
The Thrashers were 5-4 in Savard's absence.
