Manual entries on 3618

Never did, and my own 3618 is out on loan to a customer, I will ask the tech team next time I am on the phone, but from memory I don't think it can be done before the scan ( for what that is worth ) Maybe Iceberg will be first to try it tonight?

Never tried but from that last screen shot I gave you it looks like it can be done. Just ran through it and it seems you can alter the PIDS then rescan.

Just called the Tech support, they will get back to me on the 3618, but they say it can be done on the 3688.

Peter,

I got in touch with an associate of mine and YES there is a way to enter the PIDS. It is a complicated procedure. I will PM it to you when I get a chance. I am watching WB East right now. I am sure the Iceberg will be very very interested in this find. Bear with me. :D :D :D :D

There may be another way but what I have done on my 3618 is just go into the edit mode of a station I do not watch but have scanned and edit the tp, sr, and pids that way.
But usually if I have a tp freq and sr then I go into the manual search and limit the search, the pids then pop uo without any problem.

I tried it yesterday. I got KUIL on 11706 and I just went in under edit and changed stuff around on there and hit OK. It then uses those parameters :)

Please run this by me again at a slower pace so it can soak in. Is this when you have a freq and sr but no PIDs? Where do the PIDS show at on the menu? Define "limit the search."

Thanks

Yep, you have the tp freq and the sr. There is an option to do a manual search. Under manual search you can set the freq and sr that you want scan. If there is a channel under that freq and sr then it will appear after the scan. You can check the pids by going into channel edit.

Okay, that soaked in, but it's not ecaxtly what I am looking for. I make a blind scan and pick up 4 signals, they show a good signal strength but it says "no channel." I wrote the frequencies and SR down but I do not have the PIDs. I am told if I manually enter the PIDs these "no channel" will come in. Is there any way to find out the PIDs on an unlocked frequency that are not shown on the satellite charts?

The receiver will see all signals besides the dvb. So naturally when it starts processing it will register a no channel comment for non dvb signals since they cannot be processed.

I can buy that. But tell my why every time I scanned for the WB with the frequency and SR from the charts, it would always come back "no channel," but as soon as I added the PIDs it popped right on.
