Loss of top third of picture on 722

I intermittently lose the top third of the picture. The top third goes black, but the bottom two thirds remains perfect. It flickers then returns to normal. Anyone else have this problem? I have reset the receiver and checked the HDMI connections,. I am running the signal through an Onkyo 705 receiver. There id no problem with the Blu-Ray or HD-DVD players signals.

Are you using the same input for the Blu-Ray and HDDVD as for the 722?

Troubleshoot 101: Always start with something that you know works. Since you know that the hdmi input on your TV works fine (your blu-ray plays fine through your Onkyo) hook the 722 directly to that hdmi input and use the hdmi cable your blu-ray has. That way you are using a proven hdmi cable and a proven input, the only variable is the 722 at this point. If the problem persists it's the 722, have it replaced. BTW, if you have dvr'd shows that you dont' want to lose you can always pay the 39.99 fee and dump them to an external hard drive before you RA it.
