loose channels after 7 hours

I have searched and could not find an answer to my problem.

I have a standalone DirecTV receiver. It's been working fine for a long while. Recently it started giving me the dreaded 771 message.

Went up on the roof and changed the LNB just in case. I have one tv so no switch. Checked all cables. The dish is correctly aimed with no satellite site problems.

I unplug for a couple of minutes and then replug. All stations come perfectly for another 6-7 hours. For that period the reception is flawless.

It sounds like a problem box. It was replaced about 5 months ago as it just stopped working at that time.

Does anyone have any other ideas?

You changed the LNB ?

I would have thought that it may be a LNB issue.

I went to Radio Shack and bought a Terk. Installed it about 4 days ago. Do you think it might be faulty?

If you have loose channels I would simply tighten them up.

Is there a ground block installed?
I ask, because if not, a static charge build up could cause this type of problem.

I know this used to be a possibility with DirecTV TiVo units, so I threw this out as a possibility for the HRs.
