First it was the 8' mess and nada. Then I tried the 10' mesh and nada. Going to try to move the 12' solid next. It's not near the transmitter BUT I just want to get it now. Such a PIA

I used to get them locked about 98% of the time with a 6 foot Sadoun dish, orthomode feedhorn, and two 8115 lnb's. If you are getting NOTHING, something else is wrong with your setup...

Please detail everything you have setup in your system, and IF you are able to receive other sats ok. I wouldn't start with the one RTV is on (87W)

I think location is a huge factor with the RTV channels. Here in Arkansas they are just out of reach with my 6ft Sadoun right now. They’re close enough that 9 of the 33 channels scanned in on a scan, but none are watchable.

BUT, you are getting something, even if not locked. He's apparently getting nothing at all...

i can get 4149 H
I can also get one or two other transponders. I write them down next time I get up there.

That is why I was wondering if i should try another receiver.
Thanks

Doubtful that one DVBS2 STB would receive RTV and another would not.

Have you calculated the correct F/D for you dish and verified that the scalar is properly centered and feedhorn distance from the reflector?

Do you have access to a spectrum analyzer to see if there is local TI (terrestrial interference) on or near the RTV frequency?

Have you done a string test to make sure the dish (or assembled panels) forms a perfect parabola? Many folks assemble dishes assuming the panels will automatically form a perfect reflective surface.

Do you have the receiver set to the RTV transponder with a small TV displaying the signal meter right beside the dish when adjusting the aiming, feedhorn placement and skew?

I could understand not receiving RTV on the smaller 8' dish, but not receiving on multiple and a larger 12' dish makes little sense!
