Looking for ways to cut costs

Hello Peggy. RSN's are in the 120+ and up packages. Some customers just add that package for their sport season, and switch to another package when their games are over.

The flex pack would be fine but I don't see a regional sports pack, just a regional action pack. I need Root Sports NW & I don't see their logo in the pack. Is that is one of the add-on packs?

If and I repeat IF Dish provides it to your area, then that's the pack it would be in.

Dish on Facebook confirms that Root Sports NW is only on AT120+ or above, it is NOT available in any add-on on the Flex Pack.

I'm still waiting to find out if we can continue to use our 722K receivers & how much that would cost. It seems that the Dish website won't let me find out about receivers until I sign up for a programming package.

That's interesting and something I don't think most or any of us knew - that there could be an RSN not in the Flex pack add-on that is in the regular packages. You might want another look at that with another DIRT member here it doesn't sound right to me - but not impossible.

Are you aware there is a current customer discount? For the Top 120+ and up you can get $10 off the package and another $5 off for autopay. The cost of the package is frozen for two years. It's a two year contract.
I'm not sure of your situation and what would impede you from using a 722K - they are still being installed by DISH. Unless you had the Hopper then you might need DISH to come out and make a few changes to use the 722.

If you own the 722K you can use it just be aware there is no difference in cost because DISH does not charge a lease fee for using their receiver. You would still pay the DVR fee of $15 unless you are grandfathered for a lower cost, and no charge for the first receiver.

I believe they are mistaken. Fox Sports SW which is on 416 here IS available with the Regional Action PACK via Flex. Try DIRT.

She needs Root Sports NW but I also think they were mistaken in their answer. I realize there is no logo shown in the pack, but neither is NESN's logo for example and it's in it.

how much is the top 120 plus package with 2 year commitment?

Top 120+ with two year price freeze and if you use autopay should be 59.99. Without it is $74.99.
If you don't use autopay it should be $64.99

If the Flex Pack works for you even with locals added and the pack that includes RSN's and using autopay I think it would be about $10 less a month with more cable channels. (There is no other discounts or contract required. However you can do a two year contract to freeze the price I believe)
I would not be surprised if your RSN is indeed included in that pack and you may need to simply try Flex with the pack and see. You can always go to the Top 120+.

I have communicated with several Dish reps on Facebook. It doesn't matter what RSNs are available in other markets in the Flex Pack add-ons, Root Sports NW IS NOT available except in the AT120 or higher. End of story.

I don't need locals, I get them OTA. I don't own my 722k receivers. I've leased them for nearly 7 years now. I've had auto-pay for years.

We are debating between the Flex Pack with the Kids Pack & the 250+ we currently have. The difference is $55 a month - a big savings. I just have to decide if I'm willing to give up Root Sports NW & tolerate listening to the games on the radio with Rick Rizzs (can't stand him - too dramatic with more enthusiasm than accuracy) & Aaron Goldsmith (who isn't much better but he is improving) & watching replays on MLB.tv. But I grew up listening to Dodger games with Vin Scully on the radio so I'm spoiled.

If it were me, I'd go Flex with whatever add ons you NEED & INCLUDE the Regional Action Pack just long enough to see for yourself if it's in fact in there. You can add or delete add on packs without penalty cause it makes no sense whatsoever why it wouldn't be included since Dish states rather clearly I might add that the Regional includes your RSN based on geographical location.

Where does it say that? Do you have a link?

I think your idea is the best & I'm going to give it a try. I'm told that one of our 722k receiver needs an update to the G4 card which is no cost.

You mean exactly what I posted for you to do in post #13?
And no it isn't end of story unless you want it to be and just don't want to find out for sure. I am not convinced at all that your local RSN is not included and I say that with a long history here and dealing with things DISH tells you. I do take greater stock in the CSR's on facebook/DIRT than the phone CSR's but even then they have been wrong because they are given wrong info. Obviously I can't say with certainty yours will be in the pack but I give high odds it is. If you want to make it the end of the story that's up to you of course. Or you can take the advice and find out for sure.

You started this thread asking what the least expensive package was with your RSN, so I am also not understanding not even wanting to look at the Top 200 at the least to save another $10 - that would be $25 a month less with the two year deal instead of just looking at highest and lowest. (Top 250 or Flex)

Also none of those logos are for the Regional Sports networks they are some of the other channels included. That's why it is noted that your Regional Sports networks are included.

In #13 you said to get the 120+ & mentioned the Flex Pack. I'm comparing what I have, Top 250, with a package that has the channels we watch. I have looked at the top 120 or 200 & they don't have many of the channels we do watch that the Flex Pack does. Just because I didn't mention that doesn't mean I didn't look. With the Flex Pack plus Kids Pack we only lose one Nickolodeon channel & Root Sports NW that we watch regularly. Who knows, maybe that Nick channel is also included in the Kids Pack.

I still don't know where you get that picture of the sports networks & the line "8+ channels Regional sports networks included." Can't you give me a link? Every thing I've seen & been told by Dish reps says the RSNs are included in 120+ with no mention of being in the Flex Pack add-on which is why I keep asking. I want to see it for myself on Dish's web site. Now, this morning, I can't find pages I found yesterday.
