Looking for equipment

I don't think there are any new consumer grade C-band antennas being built at this time. Your best bet is to look for used antennas that people are selling.

I don't know how much you are willing to put into this but there are still some commercial dish manufacturers around. One is DH Satellite in Wisconsin. They carry spun aluminum dishes from .6M to 5M and sectional dishes from 1.8M to 5M. Prices are not listed online so, if interested, you will have to contact a representative.

These are made in the USA and highly quality (unlike some overseas imports). As such, the price will be considerably higher than most hobbyists are willing to go but just wanted to throw it out there as an option. Good luck in your quest 4311wade! :)

Team,
I found a dish to refurbish!
can anyone help me identify the manufacturer and what style LMB holder this is.

Ok nice find, the first thing you want to do is power wash it with some bleach and water, next you going to have to do the string trick to make sure everything centered. Did it come with the mount for it? You going to need a heavy duty actuator arm for it, since it is fiberglass.. C band only or C and Ku band?

Hello Huston Rockets,
thanks for the advise On the power wash, I read about the string trick on this site. I did get the mount but it was damaged when the rig blew over in the wind from rusted pipe. the dish is one piece aluminum eight and a half feet across with a center hole for the LMB and four bolt holes to mount. I’m hoping to pull in both C and KU bands. If available I’m looking for a new mount, actuator arm and skyjack positioner. The new LMB’s are on Ebay. Any suggestions on where I could find parts at?
thanks,
4311wade

Thanks for the education!
mine has 3 legs that are a little bent. I will straighten them up the best I can.
If the LNB support legs are in too bad a shape and you are handy you can replace them with similar sized metal electric conduit. You just need to make careful measurements of the originals, then cut and shape them so you duplicate their length and position exactly as it is critical to get the LNB at the proper location to receive a good signal. Paint them to match your dish and you are good to go. :)

That mount is going to need some work but usable if you can streighten out the actuator mount and weld the bottom actuator tab back on. Maybe get it sandblasted and painted once the repairs are done to make it look pretty again. :)

apologies,
I should have been more clear. My dish has a single center pole that splits into three flat bars that support the lmb mounting ring.
