Well, that is what the VOOM CSR Tech said while requesting one of the new units to be swapped (nothing wrong with it, it was not added to inventory and could not be registered). He said they are working on contracts to move local channels to be broadcasted via satellite instead of external antennas.

I can imagine why that is as it is costing them some money to buy them, install them, to send those techs to UPGRADE them as in most of the cases they are not sufficient.

At the same time I requested ChannelMaster 4221 or 4228 antenna to be delivered so I can swap that Winguard Sensor II that DOES NOT work :(

Anyway, seems like a good solution and they would not be the ONLY carrier to provide local channels via OTA antenna. That brings them closer to the competition from business perspective.

BTW, this is NOT confirmed info, just the information I have gotten while chatting with the CSR. As we all know, a lot of times we know more then they do ;)

VOOM Added Channels--Including VH1 Classic FINALLY!!!

VOOM'S new offer - 11 channels added.
