Local channels question

Dear gentlemen,
Could you answer this, please:
I'm presently in Indiana and will be moving to NY. Can I still keep my Indiana local channels when I move the receiver there or is it distance dependent? I'm Pacers fan and locals cover them %100.

I believe local channels are spot beam priortized.So you will not be able to take them with you.
Looks like you will need to look into D*'s NBA package.
