I won a Uniden 4400 Super off of eBay for $15 w/shipping (yee haw!). As far as I know it works...the guy has a 3 day return policy if it doesn't. SO, I will be hooking it up and I need to know if there are any sats on Ku that has a known analog channel that I can check this receiver with. The only this I saw is on E9/IA13 @ 121W, I see a "Lifetime Promo" channel on 12176. Can anyone verify this? If there's another channel or satellite that I can check this with, can someone let me know? You can PM me if it's not on Lyngsat. I know there are some wild feeds out there, but I need to KNOW that it's up there for testing purposes. Thanks guys!

I'm gonna try mine one more time before I get rid of it. I so far have not been able to understand how to work the Uniden Supra.

All you have to do is slave the Uniden off your FTA receiver. Then on the Uniden you need to select a KU band sat. Then use your FTA receiver & motor to tune to a good KU analog bird. You will get whatever polarity the FTA receiver is on only. Also, it won't work as well if you have a universal LNB.

every time I plug to the slave port on my FTA box, the FTA box reboots. How do I configure the Uniden correctly for this? I'm guessing I have to somehow tell it not to produce voltage on the ku port.

I bet *my* local shack doesn't but I will check tomorrow. I would love to get this thing to do something. It's putting out voltage which messes up the FTA box, but apparently doesn't vary the voltage for polarity switching, it has different connectors for that (I guess the 13V/18H hadn't been invented yet). So I can't just connect direct to the Ku LNBF. If the voltage can be turned off I haven't figured out how.

My Radio Shat would give me a blank stare if I wasn't wanting a cell phone :) The last time I went in for an F connector - the good ones that crimp, with O ring and silly cone, I needed 4, they had 3 - 1 package was open and only had 1 in it. They sold for around $4 or $5 for a package of 2! I bought a bag of 100 from Sadoun for $14! Sorry..... my local Radio Shacks are lacking :)

Pepper - Don't worry bout it. They answered my Q now let them answer yours.

iafirebuff - I totally agree. Since they've signed their life away to E* and cell phones, they lack in everything. I know more than they do in almost everything, so if I have any questions, I'd better do some research before I go in. And they're overpriced as well. I needed a tip for a universal power supply and they charged me $5 for it! I'm like, WOAH! But, I guess it's the convienence, right? I still go in for their clearance specials...they're pretty decent.

Thankfully, I try to plan ahead and keep supplies on hand. When I ordered my system this spring, I added a bag of 100 connectors, since it didn't cost anymore in shipping anyways :)

I was really surprised the last time I went into Radio Shack (now called The Source here in Canada). The guy actually knew what a coaxial ground block was, and where to find it!
