Yesterday, I went to re-aim my 6' stationary dish for the first time in years and discovered that the elevation bar wouldn't move even with the side locking bolt removed. I probably spent 2.5 hours spraying the elevation bar and bolts with WD-40, trying to pry it with a screwdriver and pushing up and down on the elevation bar with all my might with no success.
After telling my wife about it she said "why don't you try taping the elevation bar with a hammer using a 2x4 to protect the surface?". I go out again to the dish and do what she recommended. Within 2 minutes I hear particles of rust drop down the elevation bar and I was able to freely move the bar up and down to adjust the elevation. If I had gotten her advice in the first place, I could of been re-aiming the dish for 2.5 hours rather than being frustrated.
