LG's newest player: BD300

BR and downloading in the same package, hmmm. I have a feeling that player is the first of a string of devices that will stream movies to a set top box. LG/Netflix could be killing BR.

If this thing holds up pretty good the first two months, I may just sell my BD30 for it. Would love the option of Watch Now and BR in one box. More I look, the more I like.

What type of Chipset do the LG's use and how is their upconversion?

Is it too much to hope it will be priced around $300 (or less)? At any rate, I'm officially putting my planned Roku purchase on hold until I get more info.

No, but I use the watch now on my laptop when travelling. Wouldnt mind having the option if Im bored at the house, to download a movie here and there, for free.

Based on everyone here typical best case scenario prediction track record I think its safe to add $100+ to the eventual price.

Hereos season 2 via the watch now feature on Netflix looks near HD my 22’ monitor. Why would BD want to turn people on to such a threat to their survival. How long do ya think it’ll before LG releases another Netflix set top box without the BD player, maybe with a DVD player maybe solo. Downloading/streaming is here to stay. This development is just faster then I would have thought, probable guaranteeing BD remains a niche product.

PS: Forgot to add the new XBOX Netflix partnership allowing movies to be watched.

Partnership with Netflix. You can access the Netflix library if you subscribe to both XBLA and Netflix, and you can share them with your friends and watch them together online.

Internal decoding... If true I just might have to check this one out. Especially at 400.

It's biggest drawback would be no 7.1 analog audio out jacks, but not a surprise for that price.

Assumng it operates bug free, can handle any BD disk you throw at it, and the reviews show it to be on par with other players in its class/price range in terms of PQ/AQ, I'll definitely be adding it to my X-mas wish list. (Too late for my b-day at the end of the month when I'll probably be getting a Roku. )

Sherwood To Add Blu-ray, LCD TVs

How many hi def discs do you own(HDDVD and BD) Ver 2.0
