I would love a combo-player; to eliminate needing to keep two DVD players. Then again, I am not in any rush to go out and buy a smurf-player. But I might start buying up cheap HD DVD titles.

Able to output 7.1ch via pass through for DTS-HD master audio source.

DD+ 7.1 ch. Bitstream output

Able to output DD+ 7.1ch via pass through.

Dolby TrueHD 7.1ch decoding (PCM output)

Able to decode & output 7.1ch via HDMI as PCM output for Dolby TrueHD source.

Add internal DTS-HD/DTS-MA decoding and BD-Live/profile 2.0 playback (even w/ a $7 1GB USB stick), and this thing will be nearly perfect.

(Yeah, it doesn't have SACD, DVD-A, Xvid/DivX, Quicktime, MP3, WMV, support, etc. But I could live with the above.)

That puts it above the Toshiba standalones. Did they ever fix the playback on that BH100? That thing was universally panned not so long ago.
