I've noticed lately that allot of hd Lcd & Plasma sets are being sold at 720p, and most 1080i/p sets are rear projection is there a big difference in quality between plasma & or lcds and rear projection sets?
Yes, there can be a big difference in picture quality, but not really because of 720p vs 1080i vs 1080p.richardmb said:I've noticed lately that allot of hd Lcd & Plasma sets are being sold at 720p, and most 1080i/p sets are rear projection is there a big difference in quality between plasma & or lcds and rear projection sets?

Most RP CRTs have some sort of convergence. Newer models have auto convergence, and older models have manual convergence (you align things by hand at fixed points on the screen). Basically, you need to allign the red, green and blue CRTs so that when all are on you get a nice white with no halo around it.smokey982 said:Could you please explain what you mean by "converged"? I have a RP CRT and I woud love to know if there's a way to improve my picture quality without spending a fortune.
