Very true. At least it has the Scripps channels and the Weather Channel. Judging from all of the outages reported, I doubt tvropro gets to actually watch his system anyways.
Congratulations, I think...are there any channels in that package that you actually like? I would hate to send a check of pure profit each month to someone I hated so much. Hardly any of the channels in the Family Package actually cost Directv a dime.
yesterday we had some real bad rain...torrential downpours. Came from the south which is very close to where the sats are here in Minneapolis. I didnt lose HD until it really started pouring (like oh hell run for your lives)...SD stayed up the whole time. In 10 minutes it was gone (the storm....signal on SD never dropped...HD was back in less than a minute)
Most of the time our storms come from the SW or W
Here is a thought....try a 18" dish or phase III dish and see what happens.
Look at this web page I made and the pictures it explains a lot that happens here:
seriously if you take how many minutes in a day/month/year and how many minutes you are "out" the 99% is true. Its probably higherThe 99% uptime is a lie.
its LOSE, not LOOSE (my pants are loose because I lost weight...I lose money at the casino)You will loose HD and SD both.
as can any KU dishA properly peaked dish will still go out.
Unless you have a monsoon hours is inaccurate. If I have any rain fade its a minute or two...if its longer than 5 minutes then I better get in the basement. Oh wait I did LOSE signal for a couple hours last winter when we had concrete snow on the dish and blocking the LNB. Wiped it off and back in businessOutages can last from a few minutes to hours.

When her service goes out (often) on nice days and she calls up,
they tell her it is due to solar storms!
and read a few of the responses....its normal for Directv to once in a while try and get you to buy a movie channel package. Whats the worse thing that happens...you say no and hang up?
