best thing i read today.....dusty baker telling his general mamanger to contact kerry wood's agent and see if there's any interest.

i like woody, i'm sorry the cubs cut ties but i certainly understand. but, as much as i would love to see this guy in a reds uni, he doesn't need to be reunited with baker. i pretty much blame baker for killing woody's arm!

I cant believe this!!!...

The last thing the Reds need is Baker as manager and the next to last thing is a washed up, broken down arm Woods on the pitching staff!!!...:what

PLEASE say it aint so!!!...:river

I agree boomer. We don't need another tired, used up arm to deal with. Get some real starting pitching.

now, woody had a respectable season as the cubs closer. doesn't sound like the reds want him for the starting rotation but for the pen. and not as closer, either!

Well....it's a "tired, used up arm" DUSTY CREATED!!! No delying Dusty killed BOTH Woods' arm AND Pryor's arm.

Damn do I hate the "Arm Killer" Dusty what-ever-his-name-is.....:mad::mad:

From mlbtraderumors today, word is Wood could be going to the Mets or the Tigers...

Tigers would be looking for a closer for a year or two max.

Jimbo

just checked the site where i got my info and nothing has changed. i will emphasize again word is baker wants to talk to wood to see if there is any interest.

Well, Woody finally found a new home......

Good 'ol Cleveland, Ohio!

After passing a physical, the former Cubs right-hander, who has revived his injury-riddled career as a reliever, finalized a $20.5 million, two-year deal on Saturday with the Indians, whose high expectations in 2008 crashed in a succession of early-season blown saves by an underachieving and unpredictable bullpen.

The 31-year-old gets $10 million next year and $10.5 million in 2010. An $11 million option kicks in if Wood has 55 games finished in either of the next two years.

Prior to the season, we were in desperation of a closer. This signing of Woody has me all worked up! Can't wait till the upcoming '09 season!

Go, Tribe!

If his arm stays sound your Tribe will have just made 9 inning games an 8 inning affair. Still hoping the Tigers find a closer. They've been talking with John Smoltz, but I'm not sure if they want him for the rotation or bullpen.

As long as he is away from the Arm Killer, Dusty Baker, I think he will be fine.

Did I mention how much I disliked Dusty Baker? LOL!
