Kentucky Lawmakers Pass Satellite TV Tax (SkyREPORT) 03.09.05
(SkyREPORT) This week, both chambers within the Kentucky General Assembly approved a tax-overhaul plan and budget that would assess a tax on satellite TV services.
A 3 percent state-wide tax would be imposed on satellite TV services, which are not taxed inside the Bluegrass State. If signed into law, the new levy would match an existing 3 percent tax on cable services throughout Kentucky.
Kentucky Gov. Ernie Fletcher still needs to approve the budget/tax bill. In the past, he has supported a tax on satellite TV services to help grow state revenues.
