jynxbox ultra HD v2 turning off and on itself

i bought a jynxbox ultra HD v2 a couple of months ago and the last three weeks its been turning off and on itself after 50 mins of watching tv any ideas?

Overheating?
Is it in an unventilated cabinet, or on top of another device?
Is your cat sitting on it?
Try a fan and see if that helps.

Intermittent short in the coax outside?
Is the wind blowing?
Does your dish and cable attract birds?
Disconnect the coax and see if the receiver continues to fail.

Does the receiver use an external USB hard drive?
Does it have it's own power supply?
Disconnect the USB device.

I'm sure others will have more ideas...

Open unit up, and take a few close up pictures, especially the Power Supply Board. Then post them here.

I agree with Anole, OVERHEATING. I have a Jynxbox and it runs hot and used to shut off. Try taking the cover off for a few days and see if it works better.

Remember also, most of these Cheaper price receivers, use sub-standard components in circuit board, power supply etc.
I would say it is a Bad Capacitor, or related component.

Dont go with that clue most and probably all fta receivers and probably most of our electronic equipments when you open them you will find somewhere "made in china"

True, but there are some 'Made in China' products that are of better quality than others. A lot depends on the company behind the production of the device and the money they are willing to pay for quality.
