JVC d-vhs Comcast dvr audio sync issue

This problem just started about a week ago. When viewing dvr content on my Sony xbr 960 through video input for d-vhs audio is out of sync. When I record this it will be out of sync. After rebooting deck and dvr sync is restored but it doesn't last. Also I've taped and sync is correct, stopped tape and hit play again and sync is off even when I back up and watch what was fine before. Diagnostic menu for comcast 3412 firewire says enabled but NOT active. I never checked this screen before when I didn't have this problem so I do not know if it was active before. Is this the problem? There always seems to be some kind of glitch with i-link recording and d-vhs/dvr. Any help would be appreciated.
