NEW YORK (AP) - Baby, you can drive his car.
John Lennon's 1956 Austin Princess, the modified hearse featured in his 1973 documentary, Imagine, is among items to be auctioned starting Oct. 2 at www.juliensauctions.com .
The car, complete with Lennon-signed registration, is valued at $200,000 to $300,000, Julien's Auctions said Tuesday.
Other items in the auction, which will conclude live Oct. 29 in Las Vegas, include the white suit Lennon wore for the Beatles' Abbey Road crosswalk album cover, the embroidered jacket he wore in Imagine, Marilyn Monroe's 1961 daily appointment book (from the estate of her secretary May Reis), Monroe's personal phone and address book and Charlie Chaplin's grandfather clock, used in his 1918 short film, How to Make Movies.
A portion of the proceeds from the Lennon memorabilia will benefit Amnesty International USA.
Highlights of the auction will tour at Planet Hollywood Japan (Sept. 26-30), Planet Hollywood New York (Oct. 11-15) and the Aladdin Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas (Oct. 24-29).
