If the Lions knew Gruden was available would they still hire Schwartz?
Probably not, but if you could get a guy who has won a SB AND won in Oakland you gotta make the call.Gruden wouldn't be THAT desperate.
Lose embarrassingly to the Raiders=PERFECT!!:upLets re-cap: Playoffs on the line + Playing at home + Playing at home against the Raiders + Lose embarrassingly to the Raiders + Miss playoffs = Lose job!
Funny, Mike Shanahan and Eric Mangini got fired too. Maybe teams are putting in their coaches' contract that if you lose to the Raiders you'll be fired. They probably have the same clause for losing to Detroit, but no one's tested that yet.Lose embarrassingly to the Raiders=PERFECT!!:up

all sorts of rumors of him going to ND. I just don't see that happening. He won SB with Dungy's players and its been downhill every since. I would rather take our chances with Weis than another risky hire and I know a lot of ND Alum and Subway Alum agree.
Gruden has already been asked a million times about coaching in the college ranks and he's made it very clear he is an NFL coach and this is where he wants to stay.
