This is a shock!!

[ame="http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3839188"]Jon Gruden fired by Tampa Bay Buccaneers after 7 seasons - ESPN[/ame]

I know gruden's over all record besides the superbowl wasn't that great but I thought he had at least one more year there. guess not.

Extremely shocking! Has Glazer gone mad?!

Is it too late for the Browns to renege on the signing of Mangini?

If Gruden takes this year off, 2010 will feature available coaching candidates in Cowher, Shanahan and now Gruden!

As a Panther fan I'm happy. Here's a question though. If the Lions knew Gruden was available would they still hire Schwartz?

Lets re-cap: Playoffs on the line + Playing at home + Playing at home against the Raiders + Lose embarrassingly to the Raiders + Miss playoffs = Lose job!

Lose embarrassingly to the Raiders=PERFECT!!:D:up
Funny, Mike Shanahan and Eric Mangini got fired too. Maybe teams are putting in their coaches' contract that if you lose to the Raiders you'll be fired. They probably have the same clause for losing to Detroit, but no one's tested that yet. :D

all sorts of rumors of him going to ND. I just don't see that happening. He won SB with Dungy's players and its been downhill every since. I would rather take our chances with Weis than another risky hire and I know a lot of ND Alum and Subway Alum agree.

Gruden has already been asked a million times about coaching in the college ranks and he's made it very clear he is an NFL coach and this is where he wants to stay.
