When "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" re-introduced Chris Noth as vintage "Law & Order" cop Mike Logan a few seasons back in a time-sharing arrangement with Vincent D'Onofrio as Robert Goren, many fans of the spin-off were confused or irritated. Where the original series had a revolving door approach to its cast, "Criminal Intent" was built entirely around D'Onofrio's twitchy, physically imposing performance as the brilliant but eccentric Goren. Why, some fans wondered, cut D'Onofrio's screen time in half, especially if the alternative would be an instinctual bruiser like Noth's Logan?]
