I recently bought an IV200 package from SatelliteAV. The main problem I am having is that the internal clock looses time in the standby mode. This causes problems when I program it to start recording a program at 10:00, and it does not start recording until 10:09 because the clock has lost 9 minutes. Anyone else have this problem and/or a fix for it? Thanks.

interesting. My clock on mine is bang on all the time. Do you have it on the manual setting or the auto? Auto I've had issues with but manual its bang on. Doesn't lose any time

Thanks for the responses. Iceberg: I've tried both manual and auto. It looses time in both manual or auto while it's in standby mode, when programed to record it wakes up several minutes off. If it's in auto, it will reset its time to the satellite, but since it woke up late I still miss the first part of the program I'm trying to record. Navagator: good thought. I had assumed the IV200 would have the latest update when shipped, but I'll check to make sure I really do have the latest software update.

In fact, it's best to assume quite the opposite for any receiver.

Support has been very good over the last 12 months, with several firmware upgrades!

Using the menu and supplied USB flash drive, it's trivial to update to current firmware.
And, you should probably plan on doing a factory reset afterwards.
Noah, I also am a (happy!) new owner of an IV200 and have noticed my clock is slow (Auto or manual), but since I haven't tried any recording it's not been an issue for me. I also wondered if I have the latest software, here is what I have:

The newest (when you open the file there's 2 files, use the right one) is version 1.45
so yeah you would need to update. Takes about 5 minutes and works great

Thanks Iceberg and Anole, I took a call while I was posting (above) and by the time I finished my post you 2 had already swooped into the thread, awesome! I have never used a flash drive but I have the software on it and will attempt to install it...........as soon as there is no risk of messing up my viewing (via the Carribean) of the Big Dance!!!
I had always uses an old P1/P2/P3 laptop of days gone by...
...back from the days when laptops HAD serial ports...
But since getting the Visionsat with a USB update capability, I'm so spoiled I'll (try to) never go back to the serial mode again! -
Original factory firmware may require you navigate to the update screen and start the procedure manually.
Once you're into later firmware, ya just power down by the rocker switch on the rear, plug in the USB flash drive, power up at the rear (and wait about 30 seconds), power up on the front, and wait... in a minute or two, a firmware update screen should pop up and you can scroll through the versions it finds on your flash drive.
Pick one and go. - :up
edit: just don't put firmware on your hard drive, or every time you power up, it'll stop you and ask what version to load. -

I made the mistake of saving a channel file to my hard drive and it offered to load it every time I started the box until I deleted the file.
Updating with the usb stick really is easy.
If I don't use an access card is there any reason to use 1.45 instead of 1.20?
Got v1.45 downloaded, installled and restored factory defaults, rescanning sats now, no fires or explosions.......yet.
I have the clock set to 'AUTO', latest firmware, and have no time loss issues. Didn't in the past, either, with older firmware.
I manually set my time yesterday after installing v1.45 and it is correct to the minute today, that seemed to do the trick. :up
