Issues Surrounding CUI Update

So I noticed a deleted program, "Hitler's GI Death Camp" had reappeared. Or more likely, never disappeared after the first deletion. So I tried to delete it again. I got "The selected 0 items were moved to trash." And it's still with us.

You folks figure I can only add shows, but not delete? Or a certain percentage will go, some will "stay." Until the internal HDD explodes? ;)

Gee, now I can't wait to see what happens when I try to move a program to an EHD.

U236

I guess Hitler came back to haunt you. You might have unit 666

Are you deleting Prime Time Anytime shows or shows that you have recorded separate from PTAT. I can't believe that the Hopper 3 does not use the trash.

Regular shows and movies. I don't have PTAT because I use OTA. It is SUPPOSED to use the trash, but for some reason mine does not

Or the ViPs have gotten together and infected me!

Anyway, it just keeps getting BETTER, lo, ALL THE TIME! I just finished a Zimmern show on Birmingham, BF: Delicious Destinations. I was not presented with an option to delete at the end. I had to exit, reselect the folder, which had two Zimmern shows in it, and delete from there.

It deleted the wrong show.

Sigh. So I go to Trash to reinstate the deleted show. Not there.

Oh, WAIT! IT GETS WEIRDER! I go BACK to that folder, and NOW it shows the correct show is there, and the correct deleted show is gone. So I tested, watched a bit, and yes, the correct show was there. And still no Zimmern show in Trash.

This goes WAY BEYOND sclerotic software.

I'd be quite happy for Dish/Echostar to monitor my HWS and see what's happening, when and maybe why.

I also buy the odd lottery ticket.

You are correct that OTA deleted shows do not go into the trash when they are deleted. I just did a test where I recorded an OTA channel and then deleted the show. The show deleted but did not show up in the Trash.

So NOW, the Nazi Death Squads folder says 3. Previously said two, and I finished one and deleted it. So now I enter the folder, and it shows two. Not the deleted one, but one that wasn't there before, season 1, episode 2, marked NEW, recorded 3/14/17. Not sure if I saw and deleted it before, but it sure wasn't in Trash.

If the CGUI interface can bring things back from the dead, I wonder if it could :devilish

By any chance was one of those NDS shows from PTAT?. Not being in the folder but showing a recording number on the folder is something that happens when the program still exists in the PTAT folder.

You will end up with the show in both places, and then DRM issues will cause both your internal hard drive and external hard drive to explode!

On another issue regarding the CUI. I noticed that I since the update (u235) I have not been plagued by that annoying 1am (or thereabouts) shutdown. Has some change been made? It's kind of like, if the TV/DVR is on, the automatic shutdown doesn't happen. If this is so, waiting for the DVR to be off before doing its update is a welcome change.

I've never used PTAT.

NOW I'm finding short recordings. Today was an 8 minute show. Last night was a show broken into three parts.

I wonder if it's just going to keep getting worse.

I may have discovered another issue with the CUI update (possibly the U236) that affects the OTA dongle. I installed the 2 tuner OTA dongle that seemed to be working fine until recently, I don't know exactly when the U236 was downloaded. I began getting the "loss of signal" message. Accordingly, thinking is was the dual tuner dongle, I replaced it with my single tuner dongle that worked flawlessly since I had the HWS over 2 1/2 years ago, but the loss of signal issues remained.
I also discovered when I receive this loss of signal, if I tune to another channel and back, the loss of signal problem disappears. There doesn't seem to be any pattern as to when or why these loss of signal issues pop up. Sometimes it can go for days with any problems. Has anyone else experienced this?

Random 'loss of signal' message pop-ups related to OTA have occurred for a long time. They usually only display for a few seconds, so in the time it takes you to change channels, then return, it's "fixed". If you leave it on the pop-up for a few seconds, it will go away too.

Tried that. I can watch that "loss of signal" message for any length of time I care to. But when I change channels and back again it goes away. I can replicate this at will.
I can even change between the same channels sub channels and have the same effect. For example: loss of signal on channel 7.1. Change to 7.2 and back to 7.1 and the signal is restored.
I should add that occasionally, if I leave it alone for any length of time, the signal returns, but not always.

Is the only way to upgrade from HWS to H3 to sign a new contract? I'm currently month to month.

The lag is bad.... bad. Anyone try hitting live TV when watching DVR on HWS... it takes a solid 3 seconds. I hit guide... 2 seconds. It was near immediate before.

If new contract required for H3... this might finally push me over to PS Vue and the IPTV world.
