I think I finally made my mind up and i'm going with the Pansat 2700a & Universal 33" dish with a motor. I was planning on buying this today, just wanted to know if this a good little system for a newbie of FTA like myself?

Would I be able to pick up more channels with a motor?

Yes woth a motor you will pick up more satellites/channels.

that is a good little setup and you should have almost everything you need
(the only thing you might need is a DBS LNB if you want to listen to the radio stations from Canada or the Muzax audio on Dish Network)
