I'm pretty sure that the HIC should be included in the install just like the sling link was included. I'll have to double check and see though.

I just double checked and the HIC should be included in a new install. If a customer decided they needed one at a later date they would have to purchase it.

I was given two hics to go along with the base count of two hoppers in my van. Nowhere in our training was it mentioned they would be extra. With all the focus on connecting everything we touch to broadband I can't imagine they would charge. The sling link is not compatible with the hopper, so the hic takes its place. There will not be an extra charge from dish techs. I cannot speak of ordering one over the phone.

Ordering one separately from the install from Dish will definitely be extra which is why i'll get it set up during the install.
