Is my Broadband Working?!

I hooked up a Buffalo Ethernet Converter to my 622 last night. I went to Broadband Setup and reset the network connections. I got a valid IP address (192.168.1.4). When I turned on the 622 this morning, I got the "your box must be connected to a phone line or a broadband connection to avoid a monthly charge" message. Does this mean my broadband connection is not working properly?
