Is it possible to have one pansat 2500a with the dish from outside hooking up to it at the back and have a 2nd pansat in another room hook up to that 1st pansat via cable so that I only need one dish for both, but I can change the channels differently on the different rooms?

Hope I explained that well enough.

Its possible if you use the (LNB) loop through, but you will be stuck on the same satellite as the main (master) receiver and you would also only be able to get channels that are on the same polarity that the master receiver is viewing.....

Each receiver needs its own cable. If you want the whole house to watch the same channel, one receiver can broadcast to everybody. Otherwise you need a dual LNBF (or something) with two cables coming in to feed the two independent receivers.

UNless you are on one satellite (like IA5 or G10), a dual LNB would be the easiest way for total independent viewing.

If you have G10 or IA5, you could use PSB's advice. Almost all of the transponders on G10 are Vertical and a fair amount on IA5 are also vertical

no they don't

You can run 2,3, hell even 4 off one cable coming into the house. The only problem is all would be on the same satellite and same polarity.

I use to have 2 receivers off a single LNB, using the loop out. Right now I have a digital and 2 analog receivers off one line (2 analog slaving to the digital)

There are ways around getting a dual LNB :) They may not give them ALL the options, but it is a cheaper alternateive :D
