Is FTA down?

I am asking this question because my nextdoor neighbour have a coolsat 5000 installed for about 8 or 9 months and for about 2 weeks I think all his channels are down(gone). We are in Canada. I don't know if this varies from location to location. Does anyone know what might be happening?

I am considering in buying a system to install, but if the channels just go like that I have to think twice.
