Thanks for that reference. It was most interesting reading. Meanwhile yesterday was a wild wild roller coaster ride on Apple's stock. I sold off most of my remaining holdings in Apple yesterday. Started to buy some back this morning. Yesterday was one of those rare opportunities to accumulate a pile of cash on Apple.
ipad sales is also declining in growth in the US with reports now coming in from the various companies who had to cut prices on existing inventory for the holidays. Namely, Kindle and Nook sales resulted in increasing numbers but not increasing profits for the companies. But, Apple, holding it's margins continued to pile up profits on their lower growth of ipad sales. No doubt in my mind, ipad is still best of breed and will continue to lead in profits for it's company. I wonder how many kindles have to be sold to equal the profit in the sale of one ipad.
The trademark problem in China will no doubt impact future ipad growth world wide and also may cause a hit in ipad sales in the US if the exports of ipads made in China are halted. (unlikely) I wonder if Apple is rapidly ramping up acquisition and mfg from sources outside China as it did for iphone.
Finally, I wonder how this will impact the release timing of ipad3?
