iPad/tablet Need Security Software?

At the moment, there isn't any security software available that I'm aware of unless you jailbreak your iPad. My reading at your link makes me think this is similar to what we see on the Mac/OSX forum. Vulnerabilities but none being used in the wild.

There have been some articles indicating that it may become an issue, but isn't yet.

The risks don't really come from what people can do, but what they want to do. So far, few have wanted to attack OSX and I suspect that will actually hold true for the iPad and the Android devices.

Frank security on the iPad is more in line with losing it and someone else gets it. I use a passcode on mine and have it set to brick the thing with 10 false entries. Of course, you'll be able to bring it back with your iTunes account but more important to prevent others from getting into it.

Like others I don't see as many issues. I have an iTouch and iPad coming as a gift but use mostly apps or common sites that likely won't have these issues.

I also have have a pass code and wipe set on the 10 entries.
