is satelite internet service faster than broadband from the phone co's ex...dir ect way

depends. Usually **NOT**. the uplink speeds are usually much slower. You also have the satellite latency issue. Generally the Satellite Broadband is the last resort for those that can't get Cable/DSL/Wireless broadband.
