I am using a phase 3 trilple lnb dish with an HR10 and a RCA DVR. A couple of weeks ago, on the HR10, half the transponders would not respond on 101. Rebooting hr10 resoved nothing as it was stuck trying to find the first transponder. I called directv csr and deternined it was a problem with the LNB. Service call scheduled. About 20 minutes later, all was well, the problem had corrected itself. Running smoothly until last saturday. Again,no response from every other transponder on 101. I didnt reboot the HR10 this time but switched connection to an open port on the LNB at the dish. That fixed the problem for the time being. My question(s) are
The RCA unit sees the transponders

Is this an HR10 problem?
Wiring problem?
Problem with the LNB?
Something else......

How long has this setup been in use? Do you have just 1 input to the HR10? What transponders were missing? Do you have additional multiswitch on the phase 3? The RCA DVR and the HR10 should each be dual tuners so you shouldn't have an extra port on the LNB, voltage switching would affect 1/2 the transponders. Corrosion on the fittings can cause a voltage drop changing fittings could rub corrosion off.

my setup has been in use for about 2.5 years

even number transponders show n/a

the receiver is an h10, not an hr10. my mistake

no additional multi switches

Assuming the coax has been checked for nicks, or bad connectors/corrosion, AND the LNB has been replaced, if, after all that the problem is still there, there _is_ an internal multiswitch, the problem could be there.

the lnb has not been replaced. I find it some what odd that problem only occurs when I power on the h10, it doesnt loose any of the transponders once it is on.

Move another STB to the line the H10 is on, if it still gives the problem on the different STB, it's not the H10.
