The Boilermaker State (#19)
I am having trouble with the THIS TV feed. I have checked all cables, switches, splitters. I've made adjustments on the dish, which helped raised the signal about 13%. I have even tried changing the FR and SR up and down a few digits. The Traxis has a pretty wide range and that didn't help. I have it running to the TV with stanard RCA cables and S video. Here's the problem, I am getting a strong 74% signal, but about every 10 minutes or so I loose it. Now here is the the strange part, I press any key, except numbers on the remote and the signal pops back on. I am going crazy trying to figure why this is happening. Does anyone have any ideas?

Traxis doing that? I've had times when that channel would just pop out like that, usually for 2-10seconds, and come back on its own.Even when the weather is good. Haven't had any particular receiver losing it like that though.

Jim, what's the Q reading? Perhaps it's just at the threshold of keeping a lock on the signal. My Pansat 9200 had trouble locking it the first time, I had to manually tune and repeatedly scan to find it.

Can you swap to a different receiver for comparison?

I failed to mention that this problem is with the Traxis. I scanned in on to the Q about and hour ago at 68% and it hasn't missed a beat. It doesn't matter what receiver I watch it on, I am jus courious as to why this happens on the Traxis. Also I forgot to tell you that when I first turn the channel on it will show "no signal," hit any button (except numbers) and it will come on. I also have the same problem on KHIZ, a C Band channel on G17.

THIS is nuts on the Diamond, too. Sometimes it comes in, sometimes it doesn't. I had to change the frequency to get it to scan a couple days ago. I don't watch it that much so I don't know how long its been out though...

Ain't this stuff maddening sometimes?

DJ for what its worth, my traxis 3500 will do that on a lot of channels that have high symbol rates, seems like anything over about 25000 and it skips out, hiccups. There's some channels on 91-cband it won't display at all, just audio with some black blurs moving around the screen.
Mine is one of the older ones that has the rf ch3 output and has the latest software for ac3.

With my Digiwave 7000 I have a similar problem with one channel on G18. If I use my channel up buttom to get to one particular channel, about half the time on the one channel only, I will have audio and no video. If I use the channel down button, it seems to be reliable. (now I have not tried this more than a few times to be sure, but it is puzzling at the best and it only happens on one certain channel) If I had to guess (and I am only guessing) I would say that there is data in the stream that is confussing the receiver and it does not know what to do with it. That same channel on G18 that gives my Digiwave 7000 problems, comes in every time on my Nexus-s pc satellite tuner. Different chipsets and different software react differently.
