I have purchased a Dish Network 721 DVR. I am installing it on a Dish 500 system, which uses two sw21 switches and is connected to a 7200 receiver. I need two inputs for the 721.
1. What do a need to purchase to connect both the 7200 and the new 721?

I have seen switches such as a DP34, which talks about connecting to Dish Pro systems.
2. What is the difference in a Dish Pro and my Dish 500? Should I replace the current LNB with a Dish Pro LNB, install a DP34, do both, or is there a better solution?

Please provide me with some advice on installing my new 721.

Thanks,
Perry

The DP-34 is DishPro and the 7200 is not DishPro compatible and DishPro adapters do not work with the 7200's. You could get a legacy quad lnbf that will work with both the 721 and the 7200 receivers and have an extra output for another additional receiver/tuner in the future.

You could also install an additional legacy Dish500 dish with legacy sw-21 switch or legacy twin which may be cheaper than buying a legacy quad lnbf.
