I have a 625 that I currently use on just TV1 so that I can record a bunch of things at once. Just this weekend I got around to running cable up to my bedroom so that I can hook that up as TV #2. Is there anything I need to call Dish about or can I just hook up TV 2 according to the manual and everything is ready?

I was thinking since all the Dishes are aimed already I should just get to "plug and play" so to speak. Is this true or do they need to activate something?

You're all set. Just tune the 2nd TV to the same channel as what you set in the menus. Use the mode button on the front, Single mode = same output on both TV1 and TV2 (shared view must be enabled), Dual mode = each TV can watch something different.

You should be able to just hook that second tv up to the TV2 RF(coax cable) output on the 625 and then you will just need to tune your TV to the channel that your 625 is outputting TV2 on.

only use the attenuator if the signal overdrives the input on your tv. It's mostly for if you're going to send TV2 to a TV in the same room as the receiver.

You do have the TV2 "blue" remote, right? That's the one thing not yet mentioned but probably assumed by all of us, that you will need.

Well I got everything hooked up and I got a picture. It's a slightly fuzzy picture, but a picture nonetheless. I don't mind the fuzziness since the TV will probably only be watched every once in awhile (plus it's like 25 years old).

There are a few splitters along the way that I may switch to barrel connectors, but I'm not all that concerned right now.

Thanks for the answers!

I have good luck with cable channels around 100-110. This is actually a lower frequency than the 21-69 UHF band, thus a clearer picture.

I still don't get the new HD package pricing?

942 just took a crap
