I have 2 722 receivers and a 612. To support this I currently have three coax cables that run from my Dish into a distribution panel inside my home. All the cable outlets inside my home also run into this distribution panel. Inside this panel is where the dixplexers for the 722 are located for feeding back the TV2 signal to other rooms.

I plan to switch to a 2 Hopper / 2 Joey system which will require a Duo Node. So, can the Duo Node go inside this distribution panel? I assume the Duo Node will go inside this Distribution panel and connect to the three cables already coming from my Dish? And then the 4 outputs from the Duo Node will connect to the various rooms in my house that are already wired to the panel.

This all sound right? Seems simple to me but wondering if there is a catch somewhere.

As long as the node fits, yes it can go inside there. The system can simply be grounded with a groundblock outside, seeing as the only approved inside ground is a copper cold water pipe no more than 5 feet from where it enters the home. Although I believe the cold water pipe is no longer an approved ground, yet its still listed in all the training materials still.

Ugg, you brought up the grounding issue. :-(

My system is currently NOT grounded and I had a post on this before. http://www.satelliteguys.us/dish-forum/280772-dish-not-grounded.html

yep you are fine. only real issue will be to ensure the cable going to hopper location from panel is 3 ghz rated. If not, you can find the location in your home nearest the panel and run a cable there for the hopper. if its not grounded, oh well. it will still function fine.

Grounding is a secondary requirement on QC's, and therefore your system can be installed without grounding. But you have to sign off on it, releasing dish and the installer from an liability of issues caused from not grounding.

Glancing through the other thread, the dish is not to be mounted over living space period. Cable is not suppose to penetrate the roof period. I bet he didn't even use bishop tape... If it is on the roof, it should be on the overhang and cable should wrap under, connect to a groundblock with service loops, and go up through the bottom of the overhang. Sounds like you originally got a bad tech. Then the guy who added a line for you did not bring the job up to code as he should have.

These are issues you should get rectified during your upgrade, maybe even look into a damage claim on the original tech.
