I have a 10ft unimesh dish currently pointed at 101w on C band, i am at 100 percent quality but until a few days ago my actuator was frozen. Now i have got it going by basically converting it to a manual actuator but it's not correct on the arc. Can anyone give instructions on the best way to align this? Do i center the dish and try to dial in 99w? Thanks

What is your longitude?

Drive the dish (East or West) to the apex of the arc and align to a satellite in an orbital slot that is nearest to your longitude by rotating the entire mount on the pole. If you also previously adjusted the elevation, return the reflector elevation angle to the correct elevation setting for that same satellite.

In KY, the apex of the arc is approx. 84/85 degrees West. Satellites at 99 and 101 degrees West will be on the west side of arc from your true south, top of the arc.

Rather than walk you through materials that are already documented on the site, check out the Satellite Dish install FAQ and ask questions if something doesn't make sense. BUD manual

Reactions: FTA4PA and arlo
Couple things. Was it tracking correctly before?
Did you change any of the geometry when you changed the actuator?
Did the dish spin on the pole or is it still locked in place?
With 100% on 101. When you steer it to 99W and get a signal. Does pulling down or pushing up on the dish rim do anything to the signal? And the same for 103W.
On 99W 4144 H 2400 3/4 should get a very strong signal.
On 103W 3940 V 28000 3/4 is very strong.
One of these from Home Depot will help immensely if you indeed need to start over or check angles.
Plus will help when you make small adjustments in dialing it back in.

I haven't attempted moving it to any nearby satellites. Was it working before? Idk. I got the dish from a house down the road and reset it up,i had to replace the LnB and picked 101w for MeTv. I have adjusted on about everything.

I am having issues typing on this site there are so many ads, and typing in this window is cumbersome. Sorry

Then a complete alignment will be needed. The guide Brian linked will help.
Get that dish arced in the air as high as it will go with the actuator and use the angle gauge to make sure it is.
Dishpointer.com is where you can go to find your true South and use landmarks to get your dish just as close as you can pointed there. Then lock it to the pole solid so the dish mount can't turn on it.
The rest, the guide should cover.

Wondering what channels I can get with some old equipment.

Anyone have a surplus DVB-S receiver cheap?
