I am living in NJ , I would like to have a FTA , please what do you guys recommend me for the equipement to buy (like dish....ect)in order to get channels from Europe,North Africa and the middle east ?
Thank you guys.

Many international channels are on the IA-5 satellite at 97w (see below)

You will need a DVB receiver at least a 30" dish and a Linear Ku LNBF!

Please have a look at out GOLD sponsors at the top of the page, they will have EVERYTHING you need!

WELCOME to the FTA area of SatelliteGuys.US!

http://www.lyngsat.com/ia5.html

You will only get the channels with a big red F and a 5 digit Frequency!

A side note on the package deals from Sadoun. While they are great and I totally recommend them, make sure you pay the extra $10 to upgrade to the 90cm dish.

Dishes are non-refundable pay the 10 now instead of 65 later :)

Heartily concur, a 90 cm dish is on my Christmas list now. Should have gotten it first. The little bit of signal strength you gain is GOLD !

:)

I too recommend Sadoun. And I too should have gotten to 90cm. Allthough I did have it ordered, they were backorderd and I waited a couple weeks, then they were backordered again and I was getting ancy so I gor the 80cm. A warning though....it is additcing :)

another warning is your dish is never big enough.

if you have a 80cm dish there are some channels that will just barly come in, so you upgrade to a 1m, now those channels come in a little better, but wait ... there are some new channels you never noticed before that are barly reading, so you upgrade to the 1.2m, pretty soon your at a 14ft dish. lol.

So far I've owned a Fortec Star Lifetime Classic NA, Traxis DBS-4550, and now a Fortec Star Mercury II. And the Mercury II is by far the slickest receiver I've had...

im still getting used to the mercury II, some things Ive noticed so far (only had it a week)

- USALS is amazing, Ive never had an ird track so well, most ird's I use usals to get it close then diseqc v1.2 to tweak the signal, with the mercury II usals is allways 100%, I havent had a case yet where I was able to get better signal from v1.2
- I havent quite figured out blindscan (power scan) it seems to miss channels sometimes, I;ll scan and I know it missed an entire tp, so I'll do a tp scan and it picks them up right away.
- signal sensatvity is better then my dreambox, im able to get channels that the dreambox just couldnt touch, but ... unlike other ird's that pixelate away into nothing ness, mercury II seems to have great video, or no video. no inbetween.

I very new to this ird so if anyone has any comments on how im blatently wrong, please tell me :) hehe

And don't make the mistake I did and overlook getting the 90U dish... get the 90P. You'll thank me later.

Digiblur,

We will make the 90P option available with our packages. It seems most people prefer it when it comes to the SG2100, SM3D22, or HH90 motors. However, keep in mind that the 90P dish will not work with the HH100 or HH120. Only the 90U (with the U-Bolts will).

Yep, we got the SG2100 motor and the guy I ordered this for would prefer the setup like I have with the 90P. When you look at the two options, it's a no-brainer which one is easier to setup/maintain.

I just checked your site and that was a fast addition! I'll keep an eye out for this when I order the next system in a few weeks from you.

We like to implment customer's input as much as possible. In fact, within 2 minutes of website update, a new order for a motorized system came in with the 90P upgrade. So it works :D

Thanks for the suggestion.

I was wondering if the captive works picks up c band and also if not could a person rig up say a 6 foot dish c band dish with a lnb from the bottom out.would this work.
