Incoming antenna signal and outgoing 2nd TV signal on same cable?

Hello:

I have a VIP 722 DVR in the basement with the capability to drive a 2nd TV. The 2nd TV is on another floor and I am trying to find creative way to avoid running another coax line.

The 2nd TV used to host its own Dish set top box so it already has a cable run to it from the outside (junction box from antenna). This cable is not being used for anything.

Of course, the basement DVR also has its own cable, from the same junction box.

I was wondering if I can feed the signal out of the basement DVR UHF port marked "home distribution" back into its incoming cable and then on the outside, split it out, and feed it back into the 2nd TV's pre-existing cabling?

Thanks!

Thank you for that very quick response. I don't have any OTA (over the air?) antennas, so hopefully that simplifies a little.

Where could one buy compliant diplexers?

Some home improvement stores carry generic diplexers. Solid Signal appears to have great prices on name-brand diplexers (Holland, Perfect Vision and Eagle Aspen). Amazon carries everything and you can also find this kind of stuff on eBay if you're so inclined.

You're looking for something that cuts at about 950-1000MHz.

Wonder why rates increase here is one reason.
