Remember that the lease deal will require an 18 month programming commitment and that with the Mets going over to Sportsnet NY, there's no guarantee that Dish will carry the Mets this year. Let's remember that the Yankees and YES network aren't on Dish and won't be for anytime soon.

Don't lease one of these receivers and commit to 18 months of programming until Dish signs Sportsnet NY, if you are a Mets fan!

I think they will get a deal.. The Mets are MUCH cheaper than the overpriced spankees!!!

We heard the same time and time over again. The Mets will want to be put in a basic tier where they can get as much subs as possible to charge their advertisers huge amount of money for all the acquisition and money spending they made over the off season. So I will not think they will give dish or anybody a bargain for their channel. I will not count on this. Charlie may want to put them a la carte as well. That seems to be the ONLY answer these days that Dish or Charlie can come up with.

It's the METS! They don't have the clout that YES does so I look forward to seeing Dish get ahold of it and hope to watch it.

Sure they don't have the clout that the Yankees have, but they still will want to be compensated for airing their broadcasts. The question remains whether Charlie will ante up or fold on this one.

Don’t hold your breath for SportsNet NY. Here is the email I received from Ergen:

Dear Christopher,

we will negotiate with the RSN. the current pricing we have heard is almost as much as the YES network and of course the cable companies own the RSN so we dont have an answer yet.
