Changes to the System
The technical college system in Louisiana is slowly being eliminated by the present board and administration it serves under due to lack of interest and promotion of the system and a lack of understanding of its mission. The technical college system provides the skilled workforce needed to keep and attract businesses and industry to our state.
If the legislature does not enact legislation this session to make needed changes in the governing of this system, it will cease to exist. Please encourage your legislators to vote "yes" to the following bills:

HB 386 Limits continuing education tuition costs
HB 495 Reduction in force - Bumping policy
HB 567 To eliminate theh requirement of Developmental Studies completion for completers
HB 1083 Protects LTC teacher certification requirements
Resolution 2003 Protects the grandfather clause for all rights , priveleges, etc for all LTC employess who were employed before 1999.
SB287 - Companion to SB 192, but not a constitutional amendment.
SB 614 Limits tuition for technical college students
SB192 Constitutional amendment to create a new board for the LTC
Louisiana residents, write your state house representative and state senator and voice your concerns to try to get these bills passed, below is the address for the governor.
