While attachments still work, you can't IMG tag the URL (on satguys) to the attahcments any more.

The above has IMG tags, not URL .

Ok I know what the problem is.

It will not display images which are bigger then the width of the webpage.

I can see why that might be a good idea.
I've seen forums screwed up by wide pictures.
Makes you scroll several screens to the right to see all the text in that thread/page.

On the old forum, you had thumbnails which solved that problem.
Clicking on them provided the user with an arbitrarily wide image in a different browser.
Seems like a desirable feature to restore/enforce.

People sometimes get a little thoughtless posting their pictures, and giving control back to the viewer would be preferable.
Cuts down on server bandwidth, and visitor bandwidth, too.

Images which are attachments will show as thumbnails. (And then you can click on the thumbnail for full size)

Images which are attached via the [ img ] tag are displayed at full size unless it makes the forum stretch and then the URL for that image is shown.

What is the 'width' set to? the IMG I orginally linked is 640x480.

If I {URL=path to thumb}{IMG}path to full image{/IMG}{/URL}, that shoudl work since the thumb is postage stamp sized, right?

If you link to a .jpg it works - I can do that from my web server at the house. We used to be able to link to the attachement's URLs so that we didn't have to re-upload a pic several times (wasting SG space).
