I want to move

Since he asks "can I move to NYC?" I'm guessing it's "moving". Or if I'm wrong and he's talking about a real, physical relocation, then I say I suppose it's ok with me if he moves to NYC. ;)

A "move" from Buffalo to NYC shouldn't be a problem on the technical/signal side of things, as far as I know.

And this thread wants to be moved to the general Dish Network forum. :D

I have two dish 500 dishes. What do I need to do to "move". What do I ask for/say? Do i have to adjust my equipment in any way? Any advice you can give would be appreciated?

I'd ask for the 17' Uhaul instead of the 14.. you can get way more crap in there... and get the insurance. The two dishes should fit nicely.. pad the boxes with the receivers.

But when I get to new york, I might just call in and say that I need to change my service address... then I might ask if I keep the same locals or get different ones.. which might just prompt the csr to update the account.. then you might just get your locals.. but now if you want your bill sent to your old house for some odd reason, you might just not mention changing your billing address... And you also might sign up for paperless billing so if you arent back at your house you'll be able to pay it.

I moved last night.. successful. I dont seem to have the satellite for the spanish station and Long Island stations... but I dont think i care about that. I just wish there was a way to remove them for the guide.

Try locking them out. Use the locks menu and then channel locks, set a password and lock the system and viola! no more spanish channels.
